Bootcamp

The initiative, named the Bootcamp, has been established to facilitate and support entrepreneurship among Multimedia University (MMU) students. It offers financial assistance during the pre-seed and seed stages of startup ventures. All MMU students are eligible to participate in this program. Teams have the opportunity to seek funding of up to RM35,000 per project for a duration of 12 months, with award decisions based on the merits of the proposals. Various innovative entrepreneurial venture concepts, such as technopreneur, creative content preneur, and socialpreneur ideas, are encouraged to apply.

Entrepreneurship Development Programme

The Entrepreneurship Development Programme encompasses a Co-Working Space (TIL), MMU Startup Bootcamp, MMU Spin-Off Bootcamp, internal training modules, external/industry involvement, competitions participation, funding/accelerator pitch opportunities, and showcase/exhibition participation. These components are carefully crafted to provide comprehensive support and resources to aspiring entrepreneurs, fostering an environment conducive to idea incubation, skill enhancement, industry collaboration, competitive spirit, and avenues for securing funding and showcasing innovations.

Apprenticeship Program, i.e Oh! So Dumpling

The Apprenticeship Program, namely Oh! So Dumpling, aims to provide university students with a hands-on learning opportunity through the Oh! So Dumpling Apprentices Programme. The core business objectives for the students involve operating a Oh! So Dumpling business, including driving marketing initiatives with communications and marketing support, effectively managing teams or working individually, fostering engagement within targeted areas, and innovating new market strategies and promotion packages.

Nescafe Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (NYEP)

The NESCAFÉ Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (NYEP) sets out to provide university students with an immersive learning encounter by engaging them in the operation of a NESCAFÉ Pop Up café as a standalone business. The core business objectives for the students encompass driving coffee sales through strategic communications and marketing assistance, honing hands-on operational efficiency, ensuring effective team management, fostering engagement with fellow students, and encouraging innovation through the exploration and creation of new recipes. The target audience primarily comprises university students, tailoring the program to this specific demographic for maximum impact and relevance.

Pitch Den

The Pitch Den is an event by the Entrepreneur Development Centre (EDC) designed to provide the ventures seeded within the university ecosystem an opportunity to pitch for possible recommendation for funding and/or acceleration. The panel for Pitch Den will be representatives from various agencies and organisations with funding for startups and/or accelerator programs.

Elective Subjects

The elective subjects aim to deliver a hands-on, experiential learning approach where students have the opportunity to initiate and lead an entrepreneurship project. This immersive experience encompasses all the essential tasks involved in the comprehensive planning, persuasive pitching, rigorous validation, and effective execution of a startup venture. Through this coursework, students gain practical insights and skills vital for navigating the intricacies of entrepreneurship and successfully bringing their startup ideas to fruition.

 

SKPG Entrepreneur Rate

The Entrepreneurship Rate for SKPG stands at 5%, reflecting the proportion of individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities. The Year-to-Date (YTD) target is also set at 5, aligning with the desired rate. Currently, the YTD achievement is close to target, standing at a commendable 4.8, signifying effective progress and dedication towards achieving the outlined entrepreneurial objectives for the given period.
